Founded by outdoorsmen for outdoorsmen, Outdoor Channel features quality TV programming designed to educate and entertain sportsmen and women of all skill levels. The channel promotes traditional outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and shooting sports. In addition to a wide selection of video clips, the app includes a schedule of Outdoor Channel programming that is updated daily, an alphabetical guide to the network’s shows, and a social component that lets registered members of the Outdoor Channel Community upload photos and comments. Outdoor Channel’s app was created by customizing the AppMakr code base to allow 2-tier navigation and was one of the first apps available on the App Store to allow users to stream clips from their iPhone to Apple TV using Apple’s new AirPlay technology.
