Apps in a flash: PointAbout turns Potomac Tech Wire into an iPhone app, using Posterous

Many of you in the Washington, DC area may know about the Potomac Tech Wire, a very popular daily email newsletter that carries breaking local area news (if you don’t subscribe, you should – it’s very good).

Paul, the CEO of Potomac Tech Wire, wanted to make an iPhone application, but didn’t have any RSS feeds. We turned to our friends at Posterous.com to turn Paul’s content into RSS feeds (this is a use of Posterous that has, to our knowledge, never been tried before), and then we used our service AppMakr.com to build & compile the app in under 27 seconds. Now the app is ready to be submitted to Apple – the same day as the project started!
