PointAbout has mobilized a popular application from DC’s OCTO Apps for Democracy contest called Park It DC, created by Shaun Farrell.  This application tells users whether a parking meter is in “pay” mode or “free” mode.  (It does not yet tell you if the meter is in use or available because that data is not yet available, but we hope it’s coming!).  For now, you’ll know if you have to put money in the meter or not based on the meter’s status.  (How many times have you thought you didn’t have to put money into the meter, only to find a ticket on your car when you returned!)

This application will be available shortly from the iTunes App Store.  (Link will be provided here once it’s live).
